PRESIDENT & VP REPORTS:
Jamie Latimer gave both reports as Bob Brauer was absent due to a meeting conflict.
As decided at April meeting, Bob ordered 10 cooking with honey cookbooks at a cost of $20.00 each. Four of these books have already been spoken for so there are and additional 6 still available. They will be available at the July meeting. If you want to be sure to get one, please contact Bob directly to reserve one now.
The NCSBA is making a request for donations for the Silent Auction at the NC State Beekeepers Association meeting on July 13-15. Bob will take any donations to the meeting.
Extraction Workshop: This years extraction workshop will be on 6/17 at 11 am. As in previous years, Tom and Linda Savage have generously offered us the use of their farm for this event. If you are planning to bring supers to be extracted, please contact Bob to let him know. This event will also be a potluck, so bring your favorite covered dish or dessert!

State Fair Display
*The initial meeting of this year’s State Fair Display Committee will take place immediately following tonight’s bee club meeting. Any and all are welcome to participate in whatever capacity they are able.
*Our club’s extractor is currently at Todd and Inge’s home, but Mary will be taking over maintaining it for the club shortly. In order to rent it, you will need to call her at 919-724-6361 to reserve it. For a nominal fee, you will be renting both the extractor and some of the necessary equipment. You will, however, have to provide your own buckets. Everyone is reminded to properly clean the extractor and equipment prior to returning it. Many people suggested that taking it to the local car wash was a helpful way to clean the extractor.
*Lynn attended a Nature Journaling workshop entitled “Pollinators and Plants” put on by Jane Eckenrow. Lynn was checking to see the level of interest within the club to sponsor a similar event in Person County. Ms. Eckenrow would be willing to do a three hour workshop for us for $150. Lynn generously offered to spearhead the program. The program would be offered to a minimum of 5 people at a cost of $30 per person. The fee would be reduced by the number of participants. The fees would go to reimburse the club for its initial layout of the funding to guarantee the program.
