DO YOU SEE BEES?  Call Us NOW!

Honey bees swarm in the early spring to late summer. If you see  a cluster of bees hanging on a tree or other object, that is a swarm and we have members who can come collect them and give them a nice home.

If you see bees going in and out of a hole or crack in a building, they have already moved in and we have members who can safely remove them and all of the comb so you won't have unwelcome neighbors.

Click here to make sure you see HONEY BEES and to learn more.

Contact Whitney Barnes, 919-599-4790, our Swarm and Cutout team leader.

Certified Beekeeper

The entry level of the Master Beekeeping Program under the NCSBA

Requires a written test on the basics of beekeeping as covered in most bee schools.

Requires a practical test performed during a hive inspection under the supervision of a Certified or higher level beekeeper.

We will be offering the written test to anyone who wants to take it. We request you let us know if you want to attend so we can have enough tests ready.

We will also offer the practical test for this level as well. If you want to take this portion you have to have been keeping bees for at least 2 months. If you want to take this test you need to notify us and come prepared with your PPE and a smoker.

You can take BOTH tests on this day if you qualify for the practical.
